Co-Curricular Activities

Room to play. Space to grow. Memories to keep.

Life beyond lessons

Learning beyond
the classroom

At Leonard Chileshe Mulenga Memorial School in Makeni, Lusaka, education includes the experiences children share beyond their lessons. A game with friends, time on the playground and the excitement of a school fun day all have a place in a child’s school memories.

Co-curricular activities complement classroom learning by giving children opportunities to participate, build friendships and discover what they enjoy. Here is a look at football, outdoor play and activity-day moments from our school community.

Move together

Football & teamwork

A football game is full of small decisions: when to pass, where to move and how to help a teammate. Our school photographs capture learners sharing the field, following the ball and enjoying the game together.

These moments give children a chance to practise cooperation, fair play and the patience to keep trying.

Outdoor play & discovery

Swings, slides and climbing frames make room for a different kind of learning. Children can explore movement, try a new challenge and spend time with friends away from their desks.

Play is also a chance to practise everyday kindness: taking turns, sharing space and noticing when someone needs encouragement.

Fun days & shared memories

Some of the most memorable school moments are the simplest: a turn on the bouncy castle, laughter with friends or a splash of water on a warm day. These photographs offer a glimpse of that side of school life.

Shared activities bring variety to the school experience and give learners more opportunities to connect with one another.

They are activities that complement academic learning. Games, play and shared school experiences create opportunities to practise cooperation, confidence and communication in everyday situations.

How can I find out what is available for my child?

Please contact the school office for current activities, age groups, arrangements and anything your child may need to bring. The photographs on this page show moments from school life rather than a weekly timetable.
