Two important journeys met at Leonard Chileshe Mulenga Memorial School on 16 November 2025. Our very first Grade 7 class celebrated the completion of primary school, while our Reception learners graduated ready to take their next steps into Grade 1. Under the theme “Soaring to New Heights”, the day gave our school community a chance to recognise how far these children had come and look forward to what comes next.
For our first Grade 7 class, this was a milestone in their own education and in the life of the school. They leave with memories of lessons, friendships and the challenges they have worked through together. Being the first group to complete this stage gives them a special place in the story of Leonard Chileshe Mulenga Memorial School. We are proud to have been part of their journey.
For our Reception graduates, “the big school” is a new adventure. Their green caps and gowns marked the close of an important early chapter. The confidence to join in, listen, ask questions and try again will matter as they move into Grade 1. Our preschool programme gives these early learning experiences the care and attention they deserve, helping children prepare for the next stage at a pace that recognises their needs.
“Soaring to New Heights” begins with the next step a child is ready to take. For one learner, that means moving beyond primary school. For another, it means walking into a Grade 1 classroom for the first time. Both deserve to be celebrated. The photographs capture the occasion through the young graduates, learners taking part in the programme and a school courtyard prepared for a special day.
Strong foundations and new possibilities
At Leonard Chileshe Mulenga Memorial School, our commitment is to help children develop the ability, discipline and confidence to work towards their best results. That means giving academic learning consistent attention while making room for practical skills, responsibility and personal growth. Our primary school programme builds on the foundations laid in the early years and supports learners as the demands of schoolwork increase.
The day also sits alongside our Grade 7 success celebration, recognising the 100% success achieved by the class. We celebrate that achievement with gratitude, knowing that progress depends on the steady work of learners, teachers and families. Our responsibility is to keep supporting each child’s learning with care and high expectations.
A shared achievement
Thank you to the teachers who prepared and encouraged our learners, and to the parents and guardians who have supported them along the way. To our graduates, congratulations. Keep your curiosity. Be willing to practise. Ask for help when you need it, and offer kindness to the people learning beside you. There is much ahead to discover.
